Solar Steel supplies 103 MW of its TracSmarT® Single Axis tracker in Pozo Almonte, Chile

Madrid, 15th November 2017. Solar Steel, division of Gonvarri Steel Services has landed the contract to supply 102 MW of its TracSmarT® Single-Axis solar tracker for a PV Project located in Pozo Almonte, Tarapacá region in Chile.

This project will generate power to provide electricity to more than 30 thousands household, while Solar Steel will exceed the 380MW of product delivered to PV projects in Chile.

Along with its costs effectiveness, TracSmarT® single-row tracker minimizes installation time and cost with wide installation tolerances reducing the land leveling and provides one of the lowest piles/MW ratios in the market.

TracSmarT® tracker version selected to be installed in this project is self-powered and wireless (Zigbee), which allows additional reduction in civil works and wiring costs and makes the trackers operation independent of the grid.

Solar Steel distinguishes itself by integrating in house all processes in the value chain, from the coil to the steel structure fully installed on site. This, combined with the engineering capability and organizational strength, positions Solar Steel as a solar industry leader.
